The MECO Information Center is responsible for promoting the Philippines in Taiwan through various ways of information dissemination. It also promotes the cultural and educational resources of the Philippines to the Taiwanese market. Its functions include: • Promotion of the Philippines as an education center for international students. • Providing guidelines/ regulations for international students aspiring to study in Philippines • Obtaining a student visa or special study permit • Looking for schools in Philippines • Scholarship applications • Where to live in the Philippines

• Providing information on Philippine cultural resource MECO-Kainan University Joint 4-year Undergraduate Program with Mandarin Language Studies
| The International Honors Program of Kainan University or IHP was envisioned initially to expose the Taiwanese students enrolled in Kainan University with the international influence of foreign students, especially those who are already fluent in English. MECO joined Kainan in support of this project since it would give the opportunity to deserving and qualified students from the Philippines who were interested in learning the Mandarin Chinese language while, at the same time, finishing an undergraduate degree abroad on a full scholarship.

The Joint Scholarship Program offers free matriculation fees, lodging and a waiver of registration fees for four (4) years of undergraduate studies. It also includes airfare from Manila to Taiwan , visa fees and other miscellaneous expenses. Applicants must have completed twelve (12) years of primary and secondary education prior to being accepted as Freshmen in Kainan. Therefore, students must have completed their Sophomore year of study in the Philippines prior to enrollment in Kainan. Students are offered two possible tracks of study under the School of Commerce : Business Management and Shipping and Logistics. Students are required to enroll in Mandarin Chinese classes all throughout their four (4) years at Kainan.
