Any change in your civil status (marriage or divorce) must be reflected in your records in the Philippines. The procedures below are the requirements necessary to do these.

Visas for your alien (non-Filipino) spouse are provided for in Visa Services.   For inquiries on other matters related to civil registration you may want to check on the National Statistics Office (NSO) .

Some documents or applications may need to be authenticated or submitted for affirmation (notarized) PRIOR to filing.  Authentication and notarization is undertaken by the Consular Service of MECO.  Some of the application forms or supporting documents are found in this page and may be downloaded.   You can find the form for affidavits or special powers of attorney in support of processing these documents in the Authentication and Notarial Services' Affidavits & Forms page. You may even have the option to fill-up some forms and print the same using this website.  The filing of the application and supporting documents are filed with the MECO Consular Affairs Office .

Report of Divorce/Dissolution of Marriage

Requirements:

a.    Certified True Copy of Passport/Travel Document of applicant and former spouse – 4 copies each

b.    Household Registration Certificate of former spouse or applicant – 4 copies – original must be presented for verification purposes

c.    Certified true copy of Marriage Certificate (if married in Taiwan) and copy of Marriage Certificate/Contract if married in the Philippines – 4 copies

d.    Duly accomplished Application for Registration and Notification of Divorce

Procedure

a.  Applicant to sign Application for Registration and Notification of Divorce in front of the authorized officer

b.  Applicant will be requested to call MECO in the first week of the following month or after pouch sent to DFA  for the dispatch number assigned to the Application for Registration and Notification of Divorce

Fees

a.  Authentication of Application for Registration and Notification of Divorce - NT$800.00

b. Certification of Marriage Certificate if married in Taiwan - NT$400.00
